A community-led organisation needs no managers
Wednesday, May 25th 2022
08:30 Breakfast
09:00 – 10:00 Discussion
🔸 Karoliina JarenkoHandyMandy of Future Worklife, Organisational Consultant
🔸 Sirkka-Liisa Rotinen
Managing Partner, Columbia Road
🔸 Melissa Alasalmi
Software developer, Columbia Road
We’d like to warmly invite you to a discussion about community-led organisations where self-organising teams run the show and decisions happen locally.
Together with Karoliina Jarenko, a researcher of organisations and Sirkka-Liisa Rotinen from Columbia Road we dive deep into the topic to understand how these kinds of organisations work, and what kind of structures are needed and if it is possible to scale a community-led organisational model.
We’ll also hear from Melissa Alasalmi what it’s like to work in this kind of an organisation from the employee’s perspective. If you’re interested in hearing ways to bring self-organising and community-led approaches to your job, want to hear inspiring examples from organisations that have gone from hierarchical to community-led and get a chance to talk to Karoliina, a real global thought leader on this topic, this event is for you!
The event takes place at Columbia Road Helsinki office at Eteläesplanadi 8 where we can fit 50 of you comfortably.
We will send a confirmation of registration to all registrants personally to make sure there is enough room for everyone.

Since launching in Helsinki just 7 years ago, Wolt has expanded its delivery platform to 23 countries and hundreds of cities. Wolt has also gone from restaurant food to retail and beyond. But how do you make sure that your once niche, local product can cater to users on a global level, across languages and cultures?
In this panel, we’ll discuss how to build products on a global scale: how to iterate until product-market fit, and then quickly scale, and also how to recognize when something is not working. We’ll also discuss mistakes made and even dive into even when to kill products if necessary. Joining Kaisa Salakka (Director of Product, Wolt) and Annu-Maaria Nivala (Design Lead, Wolt) will be Riikka Söderlund (VP, Marketing & Communications, Smartly.io) and Thea Chow (Clash Royale Game Lead, Supercell). The discussion will be facilitated by Heini Vesander (Wolt).
The event takes place at the Wolt Helsinki office at Arkadiankatu 6 (50 first sign-ups) and you can also tune in through a live stream.
We will send a confirmation to registrants personally to make sure there is enough room in the event space. We will have space for 50 people in person.
